Fillies' Maddie Hartman of Lake Zurich HS Named to 2012 All-State Girls HS Hockey Team
The Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) announced its 2012 Girls HS All-State team, and the Fillies' Maddie Hartman is one of only 5 freshmen to be named one of the Top 40 Illinois high school girl, hockey players. Maddie was the Fillies leading scorer during the regular season with 28 goals and 16 assists as a Forward. Maddie Hartman played and scored a goal in the Girls HS All-State Game on February 6 at the AHAI rink in Bensenville.
2011-2012 Season – The Resurgence
Beginning this 2011-12 season, the Fillies are a combined Girls HS hockey team centered in the Barrington area and made up of nearby Northwest suburban high schools. The schools participating this season are Barrington HS, Hersey HS, Lake Zurich HS and Wauconda HS.
The team and the organization are committed to providing high school girls the opportunity to continue to play ice hockey past their youth hockey careers; and to give interested girls a chance to play organized hockey for the first time.
The Fillies play in the Metro Girls division of the Chicago Metropolitan High School Hockey League. The team will play Home and Away games against each of the other 14 teams in the conference this season. Based on the team’s Regular Season results, we will participate in either the Metro Girls’ Scholastic Cup or Founders Cup Tournament. The team may also choose to participate in the Blackhawk Cup state tournament.
