Four Fillies Named to 2013 Girls All-State HS Team
Alexis Boydston, Nicole Guagliardo, Justine Panzeca and Andrea Renner of the Fillies were selected by the Metro Girls teams' coaches for this year's Girls All-State Hockey Team. They will participate in the All-State Girls game on Monday, February 4th at 6:40PM at the Edge in Bensenville. All four are Forwards, and all four are in the Top 5 of the league's Top Performers rankings. Congratulations to these girls and to all the Fillies who helped get them the puck!

Sometimes you do get what you want!

The Fillies finished the 1st phase of the 2012-21013 season with a 10-4-0 record that locked up a spot for the team in the Metro Girls Scholastic Cup bracket. Now comes the lengthy 12 game Scholastic Cup round-robin, in which the Fillies will fight for a top 4 placing that will secure a spot in the Scholastic Cup Tournament. In the second phase of the season the Fillies will be playing two games each against New Trier Varsity, Lake Forest HS, Loyola, Latin, Fenwick and Upper Fox Valley.

The first part of the season has been a success and represents a big turnaround from recent Fillies seasons. The second part of this season will be much more difficult and will show our squad where we stand among the conference's top teams. Good luck Fillies!



Fillies Combination Request Approved by AHAI

AHAI approved the Fillies 2012-2013 Combination Request on August 21st and all our players and prospects have been notified. Fillies 2012-2013 Season Preparations Underway

We are very excited about the upcoming Metro Girls season and the possibilities it holds for the Fillies Girls HS Hockey team. The Fillies board and coaches are reaching out to last season's players and those that have expressed interest in joining the team.

Fees for the season will be developed once we know two things - game count (function of the number of teams in the Metro Girls league) and the number of players on the team. Our plan is to offer a fee structure similar to last season recognizing that we have girls who play exclusively on the Fillies and others who play on another team and the Fillies.

Beginning in the 2011-12 season, the Fillies became a combined Girls HS hockey team centered in the Barrington area and made up of nearby Northwest suburban high schools. The schools participating last season were Barrington HS, Hersey HS, Lake Zurich HS and Wauconda HS.

The team and the organization are committed to providing high school girls the opportunity to continue to play ice hockey past their youth hockey careers; and to give interested girls a chance to play organized hockey for the first time.

The Fillies play in the Metro Girls division of the Chicago Metropolitan High School Hockey League. The team will play Home and Away games against each of the other teams in the conference. Based on the team’s Regular Season results, we will participate in either the Metro Girls’ Scholastic Cup or Founders Cup Tournament. The team may also choose to participate in the Blackhawk Cup state tournament.
